Email: greg.hellsten@tkl.com.au Web: Bendigo and District Fly Fishers Incorporated originated from the Axedale Fly Fisherman's Club formed in 1980 and aims to promote fly fishing as a fishing experience which is more than just the reward of catching fish. Throughout the year the association conducts courses and activities designed to develop the fly fishing skills and knowledge necessary for community members to undertake fly fishing as a preferred recreational activity, create awareness that fly fishing is a recreational activity which is accessible to all, demonstrate to community members that fly fisher folk are aware of ethical concerns relating to fishing as a game sport and can make a difference towards improving the environment and developing fly fishing as a sustainable recreational activity in the Loddon / Campaspe river basins. Monthly meetings are held on the last Thursday, 7.30pm at the Lake Weeroona Pavilion, Weeroona Avenue, Bendigo. Fly casting is held on each Saturday, 1.30pm May through August at the Brennan Park swimming pool, Flora Hill. Fly tying is held on the second and third Thursdays, 7.30pm at the Lake Weeroona Pavilion , Weeroona Avenue, Bendigo. Affiliations include the Midlands & North Central Angling Association, Council of Victorian Fly Fishing Clubs and members participate in Fly Fish Australia events. |

Meetings include a range of speakers on topics such as tackle, stream craft, techniques and fishing adventures. The current membership stands at 80. Through NETAS, the club is responsible for stocking the Deepwater River, on the northern tablelands of NSW, with both brown and rainbow trout. Beyond its interest in trout fishing, the club holds regular trips to fresh and salt-water locations in South-East Queensland, targeting species such as bass, saratoga, flathead and trevally. |

The club was formed with the idea of helping further the sport of fly fishing and creating a place where beginners and experts alike can gather to share their experiences and knowledge for the benefit of all. Club members fish more in saltwater (due to our geographic location) but generally can't wait for the next sweet water sojourn. The club actively encourages catch and release fishing but respects the rights of all members to keep legal fish for the table. NORTH WEST FLYFISHERS CLUB OF TASMANIA![]() Contact: Chris Young, Burnie, TAS. Email: nwffc@hotmail.com The NWFFC meets on the second Tuesday of each month and visitors are most welcome. Meeting nights usually include guest speakers, fly tying and an informal supper where members catch up on all the fishing gossip. The Club owns a fishing shack ("The Jassid") located on the shores of Bronte Lagoon in Tasmania's Central Highlands. Club members fish the local north west rivers in September/October for sea-run trout feeding on white bait and tend to favour the Central Highland lakes once the weather has settled. Slowly but surely there is growing interest in the saltwater scene and this year the club organised its first saltwater field trip. |

Being the capital city, Wellington attracts a wide variety of people, many for only a short time. Some members are lost to the club each year because they become employed elsewhere and don't renew their subscription. Some members are resident overseas. The club is still growing and currently has about 250 members.
